1. Who we are

KC Construction, the trading name of Kyle Cairnie, a sole trader, of 65 Churchill Crescent, Thame, Oxfordshire, OX9 3JW is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. Contact us at kcconstruction141@gmail.com or on 07387 552703.

2. The information we collect

• When you enquire: your name, phone number, email address, postcode and details of the job, whether you use the quote form (which sends us an email), call, text, email or message us on Facebook.
• When we carry out work: your address, details of the job, any access information you give us, and photos of the work.
• When you pay: records of your payments. We do not store card details; card and PayPal payments are handled by the payment providers.

3. How we use it

• To respond to your enquiry and give you a quote, because you have asked us to (taking steps before a contract).
• To carry out and manage the work, as necessary to perform our contract with you.
• To keep financial records for tax and accounting, as required by law.
• To show photos of our work (without identifying you or your address), based on our legitimate interest in promoting our business. You can ask us not to use photos of your project.

We do not sell your information, and we will not send you marketing messages.

4. Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted services to run the business, including Google (email), Meta (Facebook and Messenger), our payment providers, and our accountant. We may also share information where the law requires it. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, with the safeguards UK law requires.

5. How long we keep it

If you enquire but we don’t go ahead with a job, we keep your details for up to 12 months. If we carry out work for you, we keep records for up to six years after the job ends, to meet our tax obligations and in case of any questions about the work.

6. Our website

Our website does not use cookies or tracking. Our website host processes basic technical information, such as IP addresses, to deliver the site securely, and the page loads fonts from Google Fonts, which shares your IP address with Google.

7. Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to or restrict how we use it. Contact us to make a request.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
